Antique porthole marked with J&J Woods and Reliance.
The SS Reliance was 1 of 2 transatlantic steamers that entered service in 1914.
Made in Germany, sold in 1916 to the Netherlands, confiscated by America after WW1 and eventually bought back by the Hamburg America line.
Until it burned down in 1938.
The gate itself was made by J&J Woods Ltd, Rainhill. (marked)
A mirror is mounted in the porthole.
This is very spotted by age.
This mirror glass can of course be removed again if necessary.
A total of 49cm in diameter.
Because of the weight, it can only be picked up in Veurne or Oostduinkerke.
